Bournemouth unexpectedly roared against Newcastle and won convincingly with 4:1 with even three goals from Justin Kluivert, the son of the legend of Dutch football, Patrick Kluivert. The visitors were much better in this round, and Crystal Palace won 2:0 away from home over West Ham with a red card from the hammer. Then Fulham with a victory in Leicester and Liverpool who broke Brandford's resistance in stoppage time, and both goals were scored by Darwin Nunez. Leganes made a surprise and with a goal from Matija Nastasic registered a triumph with a minimum score over Atlético de Madrid. Alaves took the big three points away from Betis, in a 3:1 triumph, and the home team was left with one less player. Barcelona slipped once again and drew a point against Getafe away from home, the match ended 1:1. Athletic Bilbao beat Celta in Vigo with 2:1, and thus kept pace for the fight in the Champions League. Real Madrid continued their great games and beat Las Palmas 4:1, who were left with one less player, with two goals from Mbappe, and two more disallowed goals. Osasuna and Rayo Vallecano each won a point in a 1:1 draw, and Valencia finally won at Mestalla, with a minimal triumph over Real Sociedad. In the last match of the round, Villarreal outclassed Mallorca with 4:0.
Real Madrid is at the top of the table with 46 points, followed by Atletico Madrid with two goals less. The last one is currently Valladolid with 15 points, but Valencia has only one point more.

In the 18th round of the French League 1, the first four matches saw identical results of 2:1. With this result, Montpellier defeated Monaco and Lille Nice in the matches played on Friday. Then, after a turnaround, PSG defeated Lance away, and Brest also triumphed as a guest in Rennes. Lyon and Toulouse drew without goals, and there were three more draws of 1:1 each. St. Etienne at home against Nantes, Reims against Le Havre and Marseille against Strasbourg. Anzer beat Auxerre 2:0 at home, which had fewer players.
